Parents of an Indian IT professional, who was fatally shot in Canada, were continuously urging their son to return home, while he did not followed their advice.

Chandan Kumar, an Indian IT professional who was killed in Toronto, left his family devastated. They suspect that his involvement in establishing a Kannada association there may have played a role in his death. Kumar was a resident of Thyamagondlu in Nelamangala, located on outskirts of Bengaluru. Whereas, the news of his death has left the entire neighbourhood in complete shock and mourning.

Nanda Kumar, father of Chandan stated that “We never imagined something like this could happen. We had been asking him to come back, as he has been in Canada for six to seven years, but he did not listen”.

Nanda Kumar requested Government of India to provide assistance to bring his son’s body back so that the cremation can take place in India. Kumar’s mother said that her son’s efforts efforts for setting up Kannada association in Toronto might have been linked to his killing.
