Skyroot Vikram 1 Rocket: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually unveiled Skyroot Aerospace’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-1, while inaugurated company’s new infinity Campus in Hyderabad. Vikram-1 is named after the father of India’s space programme Vikram Sarabhai, which is a multi-stage vehicle launched with capacity to place around 300 kg of payloads.

PM Modi stated that India’s Space sector has taken an important leap forward with the launch of Vikram-1 and Skyroot’s Infinity campus. The innovation, risk-taking ability, and entrepreneurial spirit of our youths are soaring to new heights. In the future, India is set to become a global leader in the satellite launch ecosystem, he added.

According to PM Modi, India’s future is largely dependent on the research that’s being conducted now. Therefore, our government is focusing on providing maximum research opportunities in the modern research. We have established the National Research Foundation, which is supporting universities in the modern research. The scheme of one nation, one subscription has made access to international journals easier for the students. A fund of 1 lakh crore for research, development, and innovation will assist youth across the country. he also mentioned.

Skyroot Aerospace is the first start-up for space, which launched a private rocket from ISRO station in Sriharikota last year after the space sector was opened for the private entrepreneurs three years ago. Skyroot is led by two IITians Pawan Chandana and Naga Bharat Daka.
