One or more schools in the city received emails threatening to bomb the school, as well as Shatabdi Express train. According to police sources, Amritsar police immediately responded. Efforts are underway to identify the sender of the email. School authorities immediately responded upon receiving the information.

In many locations, students were evacuated and bomb squads were called in to inspect the premises. Parents were advised to take their children home, leading to a crowd gathering outside the schools. This is not the first time schools in Amritsar have received such threats. Similar bomb threat emails have been received several times in the past, and in most cases, the threats were proven false after investigation.

Other cities in Punjab, such as Chandigarh, Jalandhar, and Patiala, have also received similar threats to schools, hospitals, and government buildings in recent months, often turning out to be hoaxes. According to officials, every threat is being taken seriously, even if previous cases have proven to be fake. The cyber cell is actively working to trace the source of the emails.
People have been urged to ignore rumours and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. The situation is currently under control and an investigation is underway.
