Saharanpur Family Murder Case: The suspicious deaths of five members of the same family in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, have sent shockwaves through the area. The bodies of Ashok, his wife Anjita, mother Vidyawati, and two sons Kartik and Dev were found in a single room. All of them had gunshot wounds to the head. Three pistols were also recovered from the room. Ashok and his wife’s bodies were found on the floor, while the elderly mother and two children’s bodies were found on the bed. This incident has raised the question for the police: Is this a brutal mass murder or a suicide committed due to mental distress?

According to reports, Ashok (40), a revenue collector, lived with his family in a rented house in Kaushik Bihar Colony. He lived with his wife Anjita (35 years old), mother Vidyawati (70 years old), and two sons Kartik (16) and Dev (13). Preliminary investigations revealed that Ashok had a gunshot wound to his temple, while his mother, wife, and both sons were shot in the forehead. Upon receiving the information, the police and forensic team arrived at the scene and collected evidence.
Police are investigating from all angles
Saharanpur police are investigating whether a dispute occurred within the family, leading to the shooting. They are also exploring the possibility that an outsider entered house and committed the crime. Police are also investigating potential family disputes, financial matters, or existing enmities. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed, and neighbours are being questioned.

Police are currently investigating the case under the suspicion of suicide. Officials say that the situation will become clearer only after the post-mortem report and forensic examination. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the area.
Saharanpur Crime News: The family was of a peaceful nature
It is reported that the deceased, Ashok, was a land surveyor in the Nukad tehsil and had received job on compassionate grounds after his father’s death. His son, Dev, was a Class 9 student at a private school in the town, while Kartik was in Class 10. Neighbours said that the family was very quiet and had no disputes with anyone. Upon receiving the information, police officers and a forensic team arrived at the scene, sealed the house, and seized all the mobile phones.
