Rajasthan Truck Accident: Six women were killed and three others seriously injured in head-on collision between an Ertiga car and a truck on the Jaipur-Bikaner National Highway in Sikar district of Rajasthan. The accident occurred near Harsawa village under Fatehpur police station area at around 4 pm. According to the police, all victims were members of same family and were returning after attending a funeral in Laxmangarh.
Family was travelling in two vehicles, with the Ertiga leading way when it collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, trapping occupants inside the damaged vehicle.

Following this horrific accident, local residents rushed to scene before emergency services arrived and helped in extricating injured and recovering the bodies. The injured were admitted to trauma centre in Fatehpur for treatment. However, due to their deteriorating condition, they were referred to a medical centre with advanced facilities for better treatment.

Fatehpur Police Station Officer (SHO) Surendra Singh said that Ertiga car was going from Laxmangarh in Sikar district to Fatehpur, while the truck was heading towards Sikar. All the occupants of the car were from same family and were returning home after attending a funeral. Six women died on spot in the road accident.

Police said that the identities of deceased and injured are being confirmed, and their families have been informed. An investigation has been launched to ascertain cause of the accident, and truck has been seized and taken into police custody. Preliminary investigations suggest that collision may have been caused by speeding. Traffic was disrupted for some time on the Jaipur-Bikaner highway, a busy route, during rescue operation and cleanup work.
