Rabies Rumors in Pipraula Village: A shocking incident has come to light from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh. In Pipraula village, under the Ujhani police station area, a buffalo died after being bitten by a dog. Following the news of the buffalo’s death due to a dog bite, panic spread among the people who had consumed raita made from its milk. Chaos erupted throughout the village, and a climate of fear prevailed. In a rush, 200 villagers went to the community health centre and received rabies vaccinations.

According to the villagers, a funeral ceremony was held in the village on December 23rd, and the entire village was invited to the feast. Raita was also served to the villagers at the feast. Later, it was revealed that the buffalo whose milk was used to make the curd for the raita had been bitten by a dog a few days earlier. The buffalo died on December 26th. Following this, panic spread among the villagers due to fears of infection. A large number of people then rushed to the community health centre and received rabies vaccinations.

Villager Yashoda Devi said that there was a feast in the village on the thirteenth day after a death, where everyone ate raita (a yogurt-based dish). Later, when they learned that a buffalo had died and that it had been bitten by a dog, the villagers panicked. That’s why all the villagers have come today to get injections.

Villager Kaushal Kumar said that a buffalo had been bitten by a rabid dog. Unaware of this, they made raita from the curd made from the buffalo’s milk. All the villagers ate the same raita at the feast. Now they are afraid that they might face health problems. That’s why they have all come to get rabies injections. Health department officials arrived at the scene, reassured the villagers, and administered the necessary vaccinations.

Chief Medical Officer Rameshwar Mishra said that they received information that a buffalo in the village had been bitten by a dog and that the buffalo had died due to symptoms of rabies. It came to light that the villagers had eaten raita made from the curd of that buffalo’s milk. As a precaution, everyone was advised to get the rabies vaccine. He said that usually, there is no risk of rabies after boiling the milk, but vaccination was done to prevent any potential risk. According to the health department, no disease has spread in the village so far, and the situation is completely normal.
