A blast occurred on the railway line in Fatehgarh Sahib, Sirhind, Punjab, 48 hours before Republic Day. The incident damaged the engine of a goods train, and the loco pilot sustained minor injuries. The injured driver was admitted to a nearby hospital. The explosion caused panic in the area, after which senior police and railway officials arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.

According to the police, the explosion near Khanpur village was minor. The train and tracks sustained no serious damage. The driver suffered only minor injuries, and train operations will resume shortly. The intensity of the blast is reported to be very low, and it is not considered a major explosion.

DIG Nanak Singh of Rupnagar Range stated that the police are investigating using scientific methods, and other expert agencies, including a forensic team, have been dispatched to the scene. Collaboration with other agencies is underway to identify and apprehend the culprits. A resolution to the case is expected soon.
