The Chief Minister stated that, until now, property registration had been considered a complicated and time-consuming task. People had to make multiple visits to sub-registrar offices, leading to delays and corruption. The new system will provide significant relief to the public.

Punjab News Today: Now you can register anywhere

Under the new system, registration can now be done at any sub-registrar’s office in district where the property is located. Previously, registration was only done at the office in whose jurisdiction the property fell. Now, citizens will have the freedom to register at an office convenient to them.

The Chief Minister informed that citizens can now prepare their Sale Deed online or through service centres for just ₹500. Under the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” scheme, people can avail this service by calling the 1076 helpline. Additionally, documents can be submitted online within 48 hours.

Stop unnecessary formalities

Previously, Tehsildars would raise unnecessary objections, delaying registrations. This will no longer be the case.

According to the new system:

A maximum of 48 hours is provided for raising objections.
If an objection is raised, the matter will be sent directly to the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner will decide whether the objection is justified.
This will prevent unnecessary delays and corruption.
Complete information and complaint facility on WhatsApp
Citizens will now receive all registry-related updates on WhatsApp. If an officer or employee demands a bribe, a complaint can be lodged on WhatsApp. A confirmation message will also be sent to WhatsApp after the registration is completed, allowing people to receive their registered documents in one go.

“Draft My Deed” Facility

Under the new “Draft My Deed” system, people will be able to prepare their own documents with the help of service centres or service assistants. There will be no need to visit the bank separately to provide proof of transactions. This will save both time and effort. The Chief Minister informed that sub-registrar offices are being equipped with modern facilities. Help desks and comfortable waiting rooms have been created in the Mohali office to ensure hassle-free service.

Major Initiative for Administrative Reforms

The Chief Minister said that this reform is a historic step towards providing hassle-free services to the public. The government is continuously working to strengthen service centres and helplines so that people do not have to visit government offices unnecessarily.
