Strategic Rehabilitation and Committee Formation

The Punjab Government has decided to formulate a specific reservation policy for Agniveers returning to the state after completing their Agnipath scheme tenure. To ensure a structured rollout, the Chief Minister appointed a committee of senior civil and police officers—including Vikas Partap, Bhawna Garg, Sumer Singh Gurjar, and SS Srivastva—to finalize the legal and recruitment framework in a time-bound manner.

Targeted Departments and Skill Utilization

Chief Minister Mann highlighted that Agniveers could be effectively integrated into several key sectors, such as the Punjab Police, Forest Guards, Fire Services, Jails, and Home Guards. He noted that their rigorous training would be a major asset to Punjab’s social and economic development, ensuring that their dedication to the country translates into meaningful local service.

Upholding Punjab’s Martial Legacy

Reaffirming Punjab’s identity as the “sword arm of the nation,” the Chief Minister spoke of the state’s proud tradition of military service and sacrifice. He reiterated the government’s commitment to welfare, mentioning the existing ₹1 crore financial assistance provided to the families of martyrs, and expressed confidence that this new reservation policy will further secure the future of those who serve.
