Premanand Maharaj Health: Revered saint Premanand Maharaj of Vrindavan is currently unwell. He used to undertake a pilgrimage every morning, but now his regular walks have been suspended indefinitely due to health reasons. This information has been officially shared by Shri Kali Kunj Ashram. Thousands of devotees from India and abroad visit Kali Kunj Ashram every day to have darshan of Premanand Maharaj. When they learnt that Maharaj was no longer able to undertake the pilgrimage, many devotees became emotional, and tears rolled down their faces.

According to media reports, Maharaj himself has stated that he feels a little weak and nervous, but by God’s grace, he is fine. He has asked his devotees not to worry and be happy, saying they will meet him soon. Maharaj suffers from polycystic kidney disease, which was diagnosed in 2006. Initially, he complained of stomach pain, but later it was discovered that both kidneys had failed. Previously, he used to undergo dialysis five days a week, but now he requires dialysis daily. This procedure is performed daily at his home under the supervision of doctors.

He lives in Shri Krishna Sharanam Society, Vrindavan. He has two flats – one for residence and one for medical treatment. A team of six doctors comes every day for dialysis. Each session lasts four to five hours.

Many people from India and abroad have come to Vrindavan to serve Maharaj. An Australian cardiologist and his wife are also engaged in service. Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, also visited him. Raj Kundra expressed his desire to donate his kidney. Many devotees have also offered to donate their kidneys.

Premanand Maharaj was born in Akri village, Kanpur. His real name was Aniruddha Kumar Pandey. At the age of 13, he left home and embarked on a spiritual life. He practised penance in various places, including Kashi, Kanpur, Bithoor, and Vrindavan.
Regular pilgrimage and affection of devotees
When Maharaj was healthy, he would walk 2 kilometres every morning at 2 a.m. to Kali Kunj Ashram. Thousands of people would wait on this route daily for darshan. During festivals, this number would swell to millions. The Ashram has requested all devotees to maintain peace and restraint and pray for Maharaj Ji’s speedy recovery. Now is not the time for service but for prayer and devotion.
