PM Modi Inaugurated Namo Bharat: Travelling from Delhi to Meerut will now be a breeze. (Delhi-Meerut Corridor) The 82-kilometre journey can now be completed in 55 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today formally inaugurated Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Service (RRTS) and the Meerut Metro, which run along the entire route between Delhi and Meerut.
With this, regular train service has now begun on the approximately 82-kilometre corridor from Sarai Kale Khan (Delhi) to Modipuram (Meerut). This is considered the country’s fastest semi-high-speed regional rail service, making travel within the Delhi-NCR region even easier.
Meerut Metro: Meerut Metro also inaugurated

This train is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 180 kilometres per hour. Equipped with modern technology, this train is a major achievement in the field of regional transportation in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated the Meerut Metro service. After the inauguration, he travelled in the metro and interacted with students. During this time, schoolchildren and college students asked him many questions. This metro service is an important step towards strengthening public transportation for the city of Meerut.
PM Modi Meerut Visit: Sarai Kale Khan Becomes a Multi-Integrated Transit Hub

Sarai Kale Khan station in Delhi has been developed as a modern transit hub. Smart ticket vending machines have been installed for the convenience of passengers. QR code-based ticketing is also available, making the ticketing process easier and faster. In the future, there are plans to connect the Delhi-Alwar and Delhi-Karnal Rapid Rail lines. Keeping this in mind, six platforms have been constructed at the station.

Passenger comfort has been prioritised on the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. The train features premium coaches with mobile and laptop charging points. Window blinds are installed to protect against sunlight. The train’s driver console is fully digital, ensuring safer and more precise operations.
Special Priority for Women
This service places a special emphasis on women’s empowerment. It has been reported that a large portion of the driver staff will be women. Furthermore, special coaches have been created for women to ensure safe and comfortable travel.
Additional Passenger Amenities

The train coaches are spacious enough to ensure that even standing passengers do not face any inconvenience. Separate luggage storage has been provided. Facilities such as water bottle holders, magazine holders, and footrests are also available.
