Noida Airport Theft case: A sensational case involving aluminium cables which are worth of lakhs has been uncovered at the Jewar International Airport construction site in Greater Noida. Police have arrested four people, including a site engineer, who were in connection with this case. New cables worth 15 lakh were recovered from a Truck amid police investigation.
Noida Airport Theft case: Greater Noida Police caught gang stealing ₹15 lakh cables from Airport

Greater Noida Police, Uttar Pradesh, have caught an organized gang who were involved in stealing aluminium cables which is worth of lakhs. Police have arrested four people including a site engineer from the company, who is found in connection with the incident. Police has recovered a stolen new aluminium cables worth approximately 15 lakh rupees, a truck with fake number plate, and swift car from their possession.
The incident happened at the place of the construction site of the Noida international Airport in the Ecotech-1 police station area of the Gautam Buddha Nagar district. Arvind Kumar Ecotech-1 police station in-charge, while providing information about the case, which revealed that Mastermind Shivam Sharma, an engineer working at the site was involved in the theft case. He conspired with his own company’s driver, a helper, and a scrap dealer to steal goods worth millions of rupees. This gang committed the thefts at night to avoid suspicion.
Four Accused Arrested

This case included, that police have arrested site engineer Shivam Sharma, driver Irshad, a helper Siraj and scrap dealer Izhar alias Sonu, who purchased the stolen goods. Police said that theft was uncovered on night of December 3, when a police team was conducting checks at the GBU intersection. During the investigation, a canter truck and a Swift car following it appeared suspicious. When the police signalled them to stop, both drivers tried to flee, after which police cordoned off the area and stopped vehicles.
Questions Raised Over Security Arrangements

After searching the canter truck, aluminium cables were recovered during a rigorous interrogation during which driver confessed that they had stolen goods from Jewar Airport site and engineer was involved in the incident. This case raised alarming alerts and serious questions about the security arrangements at Jewar Airport, especially since Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently inspected the airport’s construction site.
