Subhas Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack, Odisha. From a young age, he displayed curiosity and a strong desire to learn. After his early education, he earned a degree from Calcutta University. Despite his academic brilliance, his goal was not merely personal success, but the welfare and freedom of his country. Therefore, he went to England to take the Indian Civil Service (ICS) examination.
In 1919-20, he passed the examination and became an ICS officer, securing the fourth position. Subhas Chandra Bose was an Indian nationalist leader whose name is remembered with pride by every Indian today. The role he played in India’s struggle for independence against British rule was extraordinary.
