Lucknow Cyber Sexual Harassment: Teen girl targeted by Former Friend in Cyber Blackmail Case
This is a serious case of cyber sexual harassment, stalking, and sextortion has come forward to light from the Chinhat police station area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The victim stated in her complaint that a young man was continuously sending her videos and was blackmailing her to send private pictures. When she refused, he threatened to ruin the life of girl. The accused used to harass her by threatening to send her private photos and videos to her acquaintances.
Dinesh Mishra in-Charge of Chinhat police station said that a case has been registered and investigation is being launched based on the Victim’s complaint and available evidence. Following this incident, the victim met with ACP Saeed Karim on the night of December 1st, immediately ordered to file a complaint with the cyber cell. The cyber police investigated and identified about accused named as Shishir Bhardwaj, an old friend of victim who lives in Lucknow.
Victim faces repeated Cyber Blackmail and Threats
According to the Victim, on night of 1st or 2nd December, accused sent her objectionable pictures and screenshots to some acquaintances, which harmed her reputation, mental peace and social standing. The victims also stated that she had received similar threats in October also, but she was unable to file a complaint at that time due to social stigma.
The victim also alleged that on evening of November 30, she received an obscene video on her mobile phone from an unknown number. He blackmailed her to make life hell with 6 to 12 days and that he will send her videos and photos to her parents, relatives and friends. The police is also conducting investigations into this matter, and efforts are also being made to arrest the accused person.
