India Gate Protest: Air pollution in Delhi is getting worsened day-by-day. That lead protestors to erupt at the India gate. Polices officers were sprayed with pepper spray when they removing the protestors. During this chaos, three to four police officers were injured.
On Monday morning, a group of Delhi residents started protesting against the worsening situation of air pollution in Delhi at India Gate. As the protest began to grow, immediately police arrived at the situation to disperse the crowd. Meanwhile, protestors also used pepper spray on them and three to four police officials were injured during this incident. They were immediately took to hospital and police arrested 23 people.

According to media reports, someone within the crowd sprayed pepper spray into the eyes of on duty policeman, with intention of seriously injuring him. While other police official rushed to rescue, they were also sprayed. New Delhi DCP, Devesh Kumar Mahala, said, “This is a very unusual incident. and it’s the first time when protestors have used pepper spray on our personnel handling traffic and law of order. During this protest, they were chanting, “How many Hidmas will you kill? Hidma will emerge from every house.”
India Gate Protest: Injured Brought to RML Hospital for treatment

Police official informed, that injured employees were brought to RML hospital for treatment. legal action will be taken soon in this matter. An FIR has also been registered while police have detained at least 23 people in connection with his disorder.
It is worth noting that pollution levels in Delhi have reached to its dangerous levels. On Sunday morning, Delhi’s Air quality Index (AQI) was 430, while in some areas it exceeded to the level of 450. The government has made several efforts to address air pollution that is being considered.
