In Haryana’s Gurugram, a 19-year-old girl’s live-in partner crossed all limits of brutality with her. First, he kept having physical relations with her by giving her false promise of marriage and now he has come to the point of taking her life. After a fight, the accused not only beat the girl badly but also poured acid on her private parts and set them on fire. The girl’s condition is critical and she is admitted in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.
Gurugram Live-in Partner Torture Case: What’s the whole matter?
The victim, a biotech student at a renowned college in Gurugram, is originally from Tripura. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment, suffering from severe injuries to her hands, mouth, feet, and private parts, and was writhing in pain. The victim’s account of her ordeal to the police is horrifying. She said her live-in partner, Shivam (19), had been torturing her for three days. He would force her into a relationship under the pretext of marriage and later beat her.
Tripura Girl Tortured in Gurugram
Speaking to a news agency on Sunday (February 22, 2026), the woman said that her daughter called her on February 19 night and told her about the ordeal. “She told me that her friend Shivam had been torturing her for the past three days. She said that he would kill her that day. After that, I called Badshahpur police station and they saved my daughter,” said woman as she was sobbing inconsolably.
According to media reports, this incident occurred in the Badshahpur police station area of Gurugram. The victim was studying in a PG in Sector 69, Gurugram. Meanwhile, she met Shivam on social media, and in September 2025, they began chatting and befriending each other. They began dating and living together in a live-in relationship in Gurugram. The victim alleges that the accused, under the pretext of marriage, forced physical contact with her. The accused became suspicious and began assaulting and torturing her.

According to the FIR, on February 16, 2026, the accused exceeded all limits of cruelty against the victim. It is alleged that he hit her on the head with a steel bottle, slammed her head against a wall and furniture, and attacked her with an earthen pot. Furthermore, he poured sanitizer on her private parts and attempted to set them on fire. Stabbing her in the legs with a knife, he threatened to injure her so badly that she would be unable to walk or become a mother. The victim also alleged that the accused recorded objectionable videos of her.

On the night of February 18th, the victim used the accused’s phone to narrate the entire incident to her mother in Bengali, as the accused did not understand the language. Her mother then called 112 and informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and admitted her to the government hospital in Sector 10, where doctors initially declared her unfit to give a statement. She was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors there declared her fit to give a statement, after which the police recorded her detailed statement.
