Focus on Quality, Technology and Values in school reforms

Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated new academic blocks at the DIET in Dilshad Garden and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Mansarovar Garden, taking Delhi’s education revolution to new heights. The Chief Minister also inaugurated 101 state-of-the-art ICT labs to promote digital learning in government schools. The Chief Minister stated that the Delhi government’s goal is not simply to build large buildings, but to provide world-class education and technology to children within those buildings.

Chairmen, including Cabinet Minister Mr Ashish Sood and MLA Mr Harish Khurana, were present at the event. The Chief Minister informed that the Education Department has made significant progress in its 355 days in office, with the inauguration of buildings in Delhi’s government schools, the launch of over 101 computer labs, and the dedication of new academic buildings. She commended the support of the Ladli Foundation and the American India Foundation, stating that major changes are possible only through the partnership between government and society. The availability of 101 computer labs, over 2,000 computers, and digital infrastructure through CSR has given Delhi’s government schools a new direction.
The Chief Minister stated that his government’s goal is to make Delhi the state with the largest number of smart classrooms, computer labs, language labs, modern playgrounds, and excellent educational infrastructure in the country. Along with education, special attention is also being paid to sports, nutrition, and other areas. The Chief Minister stated that the Education Department will inaugurate 75 CM Shri Schools within its first year of office, which will embody high standards of quality. The ‘Niwan’ curriculum will also strengthen children’s morality, civic responsibility, and patriotism.
Unprecedented Infrastructure Expansion

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed ground-level plus three-story school building at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Mansarovar Garden. Under this project, the building has been developed to modern standards, with a total of 29 classrooms, all facilities, and student numbers, keeping in mind the educational needs. Additionally, a new ground-level plus three-story building was inaugurated at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) campus in Dilshad Garden. This building features 19 classrooms and modern facilities for teacher training and educational innovation.

On this occasion, the American India Foundation (AIF), in collaboration with the Ladli Foundation, with CSR support, established 101 advanced ICT computer labs in 101 government schools in Delhi. Each lab is equipped with 20 computers and an Interactive Flat Panel Display (IFPD). Digital skills training, workshops, and structured learning support are also being provided for teachers and students.
