Bollywood Celebs Voted in BMC Election: On Thursday, Polling is underway in 29 municipal corporations of Maharashtra. Multiple actors, filmmakers and celebrities are expected to cast their vote today. Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar and Sanya Malhotra were among the earliest ones to cast their votes.

Actor-politician Hema Malini also castes her vote, as per the state election commission, a total of 3.48 crore voters are eligible to cast their vote for deciding the fate of 15,908 candidates, who are contesting for 2,869 seats across 893 wards in 29 municipal corporations. Whereas 39,092 polling centre has been set up across the state. Significantly, as soon as voting began at 7:30 AM this morning, several Bollywood celebrities were spotted at polling booths casting their votes. The voting process will continue until 5:30 PM today.

Polling began today and will continue till 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with the voting count scheduled to begin on January 16, Friday. Voting is being held for municipal corporation including Brihanmumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Navi Mumbai, Vasai-Virar, Kolhapur, Kalyan-Dombivli, Thane, Ulhasnagar, Nashik, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Latur, Parbhani, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Malegaon, Panvel, Mira-Bhayandar, Nanded-Waghala, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, Jalgaon, Dhule, Ahilyanagar, Ichalkaranji and Jalna.

Among Bollywood celebrities, first to cast their vote was actor Akshay Kumar, who arrived at the polling booth with his wife Twinkle Khanna. Other celebrities who came to vote included John Abraham, Sunil Shetty, Rakesh Roshan, Gulzar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Junaid Khan, and Kiran Rao. Bollywood’s “Dream Girl,” Hema Malini, also voted in the BMC elections and urged everyone to exercise their right to vote. Meanwhile, Nana Patekar cast his vote in Dadar, and members of Aamir Khan’s family also came to vote. Aamir Khan’s children, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, were seen casting their votes at a polling booth in Mumbai.

Bollywood star and prominent personalities were out to cast their votes in the Birihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Nana Patekar voted as Balmohan Vidyamandir in Dadar, while Tamannah Bhatia exercised her franchise at a polling booth in Mumbai. Other celebrities including John Abraham, Zoya Akhtar, and Divya Dutta also seen voting at various locations across the city.

Legend of cricket world Sachin tendulkar, along with his wife Anjali Tendulakar and daughter Sara Tendulakar cast their votes in Bandra West On Thursday morning. Sachin speaks about the elections “This is a very important election. It gives us a chance to express our opinion through votes. Everyone should come out and cast votes.”

Several Bollywood actors, including industrialists and renowned politicians participated in the polls. Among the stars spotted this morning were Akshay kumar, Hema Malini, Sunil Shetty, Nana Patekar, and Sachin Tendulkar. In the areas like Bandra, Juhu and Paliu Hills, that are homes to luxury propertiess of many celebrities, witnessed a strong turnout.
