Bhagwant Mann Japan visit: On the fourth day of his Japan tour, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s roadshow in Osaka on Friday received an overwhelming response. Leading Japanese companies participated in the roadshow and expressed keen interest in investing in the state.
Bhagwant Mann Japan visit: Strengthening Indo-Japanese Economic Relations
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the participation of these major industrial companies reflects strong support for strengthening Indo-Japanese economic relations. He added that it also demonstrates the growing interest of global investors in Punjab’s progressive industrial policies, integrated single-window system, and investment-ready opportunities. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government’s aim is to create new opportunities for our youth and provide a stable and reliable environment for investors.
Bhagwant Mann Japan visit: Growing Confidence of Japanese Industry in Punjab
Recalling Punjab’s ties with Japanese industry, the Chief Minister said that these relations are already very strong and continuously growing. He said that several renowned Japanese companies have already expressed confidence in investing in Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to the state government’s investment-friendly efforts, Punjab has emerged as one of the most preferred investment destinations globally. He highlighted Punjab’s strategic location, seamless connectivity to major ports, robust industrial clusters, uninterrupted power supply, skilled workforce, and progressive policy environment.
Governance Reforms and Single Window System
The Chief Minister also mentioned the state’s governance and regulatory reforms, including the Fast Track Punjab Single Window System, which provides over 173 G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, a PAN-based business identifier, and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act, enabling time-bound in-principle approvals. He also highlighted Punjab’s industrial infrastructure and stated that grounded investments worth over ₹1.4 lakh crore have already been secured through Invest Punjab.
Punjab–Industry Partnership for Growth
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his resolve is simple and clear – to make Punjab the preferred destination for global industry by providing policy stability, speed in decision-making, and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors. The Chief Minister stated that Punjab’s approach is based on partnership and collaboration with industries, understanding their needs and ensuring that the government acts as a catalyst for growth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has strengthened its infrastructure, expanded its industrial capacity, and opened new avenues for investment. He emphasized that the partnership between the government and industry is key to success, and the state government firmly believes that industrial development is only possible when we work together as equal partners.
New Industrial Policy 2022 and Sectoral Committees
The Chief Minister stated that this principle guides the state’s new industrial policy, introduced in 2022, which was formulated after extensive consultations with industry leaders and stakeholders to address their needs and expectations. Bhagwant Singh Mann informed that the state government has now constituted 24 sectoral committees, chaired by industry heads, to develop sector-specific policies.
Showcasing Punjab’s Vision and Osaka Business Meetings
He said that such initiatives help pave new pathways for Punjab in North India by sharing our success stories and long-term vision, as we invite potential investors and partners to be a part of Punjab’s growth story by 2035. He also held a series of high-level meetings in Osaka today, including discussions with Air Water Inc. on new opportunities in industrial gases and engineering equipment.
Engagements with OCCI and Japanese Agri-Market Leaders
The Chief Minister also held official talks with the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) to explore possibilities for trade, technology, and SME collaboration. He met with Tokushima Auction Market and Global Venture Company Limited on agri-market modernization and supply-chain partnerships. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed his pleasure at the presence of senior Japanese dignitaries at the Osaka Business Roadshow and Reception, including the Director General and Deputy Director General of JETRO, officials from the Department of Commerce, Industry and Labour, Osaka Prefectural Government, and the Director General, International Affairs Department, METI Kansai.
Invitation to Progressive Punjab Investor Summit 2026
The Chief Minister also invited investors to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investor Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from March 13 to 15, 2026, at the Indian School of Business, Mohali, to further encourage investment. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this summit will showcase Punjab’s progress, provide a robust platform for leading industrial players, and present new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations. He expressed hope that Japanese investors would participate in large numbers in this summit and further accelerate the industrial development of the state.
