Bangladeshi nationals arrested: In a major operation, the Versova Police Station arrested 25 Bangladeshi nationals in the Yari Road area of ​​Andheri West, Mumbai. According to the police, all of these individuals were living illegally in India and had been based in Mumbai for several years. The 25 arrested include 21 transgender individuals, two women, and two men.

Police officials stated that they received information from an informant that these individuals were going to gather at a dargah on Yari Road late at night. Based on the information, the Versova Police Anti-Terror Cell (ATC) team raided the area and detained all of them. During the operation, police recovered a large number of Indian and Bangladeshi documents from the scene.

They stated that preliminary investigations revealed that all of the accused had first arrived in Kolkata illegally from Bangladesh. They then traveled to Mumbai via Delhi and Gujarat. After arriving in Mumbai, the accused had obtained fraudulent Indian identity cards and other documents. Police are now investigating who played a role in preparing these documents and who else is involved in this entire network.

Versova police have registered a case against all the accused under relevant sections and the process of deporting them to Bangladesh has been initiated. According to officials, further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in this racket and to take strict action against foreign nationals living illegally.

Police say the campaign against illegal immigrants in the city will continue. These individuals are being interrogated to identify more illegal immigrants. A police officer stated that a team has already been formed to identify illegal immigrants and is continuously taking action against them.
