Arvind Kejriwal News: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who is on a three-day visit to Gujarat, interacted with party workers in Rajkot on Monday regarding the municipal corporation elections. During interaction, he said that the next mayor of Rajkot will be from Aam Aadmi Party. In last election, the people of Rajkot showed their trust in AAP by giving them 18 percent of the votes. Now, that trust has grown even stronger.
The time has come for the BJP, which has been in power for 30 years, to go. In 30 years, Singapore became a developed country, while the BJP has ruined Gujarat in the same 30 years. The wheel of time has turned in Gujarat. Now, a people’s government will be formed in Gujarat. Whatever the people say, that’s what will happen. He appealed to AAP workers to go to every house and remove the fear of the BJP that is ingrained in people’s minds.
Gujarat News: ‘False allegations were levelled against farmers’
During an interaction with party workers in Rajkot, Arvind Kejriwal said that children of farmers had been arrested in Hardad. “This morning I met those farmers and their families. 88 children of farmers were arrested there, and very harsh charges and false allegations were leveled against them. In Hardad, the farmers had gathered peacefully to protest against the Karada system and demand their rights. Our Constitution also grants every citizen of the country the right to express their demands peacefully. The farmers were also making their demands peacefully, yet they were lathi-charged and imprisoned after false cases were registered against them.”
Arvind Kejriwal said that 88 people arrested, 42 have been granted bail, while 46 are still in jail. The farmers who were released from jail said that for the first 24 hours, they were not given even drinking water or food. They were severely beaten. This is how the British used to treat us. He said that Gujarat is the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, who drove the British out of the country.
The British also thought that no one could drive them out of India. They believed they would rule here permanently, but Gandhiji and Sardar Patel drove them away. Today, the BJP also thinks that they have been ruling for 30 years and no one can remove them. There are two years left. After two years, the people of Gujarat will drive the BJP out.
‘Rule of stick and oppression will no longer be tolerated in Gujarat’
Arvind Kejriwal said that this kind of rule of the stick and oppression will no longer be tolerated in Gujarat. Hearing stories of the affected farmer families brought tears to my eyes. The BJP thought they would break the farmer’s spirit through this repression. Instead of breaking the farmers’ spirit, BJP has united farmers across Gujarat. I was told that in villages from where the farmers were arrested, entire village worked together in their fields and showed solidarity like one family. Those who were arrested have given courage to the people of Gujarat, showing that everyone needs to unite.
Arvind Kejriwal In Gujarat: ‘If Kejriwal is corrupt, then there is no honest person in this world’
Arvind Kejriwal said that all the roads in Gujarat are broken. Singapore became a developed country in 30 years. The BJP government has been in power in Gujarat for 30 years. In these 30 years, BJP has ruined Gujarat. They can’t build roads, and they can’t run schools or hospitals. Drugs are being sold throughout Gujarat. They file FIRs against anyone who raises their voice against them.
They even sent me to jail on false charges. These people say that Kejriwal is corrupt. If Kejriwal is corrupt, then there is no honest person in this world. These people can send me to jail a hundred times, but I am ready to give my life for my country.
‘If they send them to jail, I will get them released’
Arvind Kejriwal said that now these people will also file FIRs against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers. We have to be prepared for this. I will always stand with my workers. If they send them to jail, I will get them released. They put 88 farmers in jail. We have already secured the release of 42 farmers, and remaining 46 farmers will also be out in the next few days. We can spend a month or two in jail for the country. Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi also went to jail.
Two years from now, as soon as Aam Aadmi Party government is formed in Gujarat, all the registered FIRs will be withdrawn. BJP ministers should read Bhagavad Gita. Lord Krishna said that when the wheel of time turns, it shakes thrones of even the most powerful. When BJP’s power ends, those who are sending people to jail today will be grinding grain in jail.
‘Now a people’s government will be formed in Gujarat’
Arvind Kejriwal said that wheel of time has turned. The time has come for the BJP to leave Gujarat. No one needs to be afraid. Now, people will rule in Gujarat, not BJP. A people’s government will be formed, and whatever the people say will be done. Last time in the elections, we received 18 percent of the votes in Rajkot. This 18 percent vote represents the people’s trust in the Aam Aadmi Party.
The 18 percent of people in Rajkot trusted Aam Aadmi Party because it is a new and small party. The Aam Aadmi Party was born just 10-12 years ago, in 2012. Today, for the first time in Indian politics, we have forced every party to talk about schools, hospitals, electricity, and water. Before this, no party ever talked about schools, hospitals, electricity, and water during elections.
‘People’s trust upon Aam Aadmi Party has increased’
Arvind Kejriwal said that people of Rajkot showed their trust in the Aam Aadmi Party by giving it 18 percent of the votes. Now, people’s trust in the Aam Aadmi Party has increased even further. We will have to go door-to-door and build people’s confidence. We have to unite everyone. People are scared; we have to remove the fear from their minds. We are fully confident that the people will support us. We are very hopeful that the next mayor of Rajkot will be from Aam Aadmi Party.
