Arvind Kejriwal LPG shortage statement: Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticised the central government over the ongoing LPG shortage in the country, claiming that the crisis could put nearly 10 million people at risk of unemployment. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has weakened India’s independent foreign policy and turned the country into a “colony of America” under pressure from Donald Trump.
Kejriwal questioned why the Prime Minister visited Israel just a day before the outbreak of war and claimed the move angered longtime partner Iran, worsening the LPG supply crisis in India. He also argued that India historically followed a non-aligned foreign policy, but recent actions show the government siding with the United States and Israel. Kejriwal said that if the Prime Minister fears his secrets being exposed by Trump, he should resign rather than put the country in difficulty.

India’s LPG production has decreased by 50 percent due to the closure of the State of Hormos – Kejriwal
At a press conference at the AAP headquarters on Wednesday with MP Sanjay Singh and leader Jasmine Shah, Arvind Kejriwal said that the country is currently facing a serious crisis. There is a severe shortage of LPG gas across the country. LPG gas is used for cooking in homes, in restaurants, hotels, and in industries, among other purposes. The main reason behind this severe shortage is the approximately 50 percent reduction in the daily production of LPG gas in our country. 60 percent of our country’s LPG consumption is imported. Of this 60 percent import, 90 percent of LPG gas comes from the State of Hormos. The State of Hormos has been closed to India. In this way, LPG gas imports have decreased by 90%. Consequently, LPG production in our country has now decreased by 50-55%.
Central Government has banned supply of LPG gas to restaurants and hotels – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that restaurants and hotels are bearing the brunt of the LPG crisis. The Central Government has issued an order that LPG gas will not be provided to restaurants and hotels. Restaurants and hotels cannot stockpile LPG due to safety concerns. Therefore, restaurants and hotels are supplied with LPG cylinders based on their daily consumption. If the supply of LPG gas were to suddenly stop, they would not have enough stock for even a day or two.
If the crisis continues, thousands of restaurants and hotels will close in the next two days – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that 20% of hotels and restaurants in Mumbai have closed due to the LPG cylinder shortage. In the next two days, 50 percent of restaurants and hotels are going to close. Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, approximately 10,000 hotels and restaurants are on the verge of closure. Thousands of hotels and restaurants are going to close in the coming days in Punjab and NCR. This is the wedding season. If the LPG gas crisis continues, many people will have to postpone their weddings. Similar problems are being faced in other states, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Bihar.

Arvind Kejriwal said that Morbi in Gujarat is considered the capital of the tile industry. There are approximately 650 industries there. Of these, 170 industries have closed, leaving approximately 100,000 people unemployed. Due to the deepening LPG gas crisis, more than 10 million people across the country are expected to become unemployed. We cannot imagine what the situation could be if people become unemployed on such a large scale. Recently, the central government has significantly increased the prices of domestic and commercial LPG gas. On the other hand, the deepening crisis has led to rampant black marketing of LPG gas in the market.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the country must understand why the LPG gas crisis has worsened in the country. This is happening because Israel and the United States attacked Iran. The State of Hormos is the largest exporter of oil and gas to the world. Iran has occupied the State of Hormos. Iran has stated that only its friendly countries will have the right to ship to and from the State of Hormos. Therefore, ships from Russia and China are being allowed to sail through the State of Hormos.

Modi said, “Yes, sir,” and he did. Because of this, countless workers in the country became unemployed. Numerous industries shut down, and millions of farmers suffered losses. Now, Modi has sided with the United States and Israel in this war.

Central Government Should Strengthen Its Foreign Policy and Not Make India a Subservient to America – Kejriwal
