Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat: AAP party convener Arvind Kejriwal is on a visit to Gujarat, during which he strongly criticised BJP party, accusing them of suppressing farmers through police action and framing them in false cases. Kejriwal alleged that state administration used excessive force against farmers who were protesting peacefully. He said that the Gujarat government lathi-charged farmers, fired tear gas shells at them, and arrested them by filing false cases. “Today I have come to meet their families,” he said. Arvind Kejriwal stated that approximately 88 farmers were arrested, of whom 42 have been granted bail, and 46 are still in custody, and he expressed hope that they too would be granted bail soon.
“Today, BJP government in Gujarat is arresting farmers and putting them in jail, and several Aam Aadmi Party leaders have also been imprisoned on false charges. Today, I met the families of all these brave people. Every family is proud of the courage of their sons.”

Criticising BJP government in Gujarat, Kejriwal claimed that despite repeated public concerns, issues like illegal liquor and narcotics are rampant in the state. Counterfeit liquor is widespread throughout Gujarat. Drugs can be easily purchased here. The BJP government is unable to apprehend those involved. But they arrested farmers who were peacefully raising their voices.

Describing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a rising force in Gujarat politics, Kejriwal said that earlier, people had no alternative because BJP and Congress were in cahoots. Now, people have an option, the Aam Aadmi Party, and gradually, AAP is reaching every household in Gujarat. He predicted a major political shift in the next state elections. He asserted that in two years, BJP government would be gone. All the false FIRs filed to intimidate people would be withdrawn.
