Anurag Dhanda Statement: Aam Aadmi Party’s National Media In-Charge, Anurag Dhanda, has welcomed the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme implemented in Punjab. He stated that this scheme is far more people-friendly, practical, and effective than the Ayushman Bharat scheme implemented in Haryana. Dhanda described it as a strong example of Arvind Kejriwal’s welfare model.

Punjab Free Healthcare Scheme: Patients troubled by the Ayushman scheme in Haryana

Anurag Dhanda alleged that patients are constantly facing problems under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Haryana. Many hospitals do not accept Ayushman cards, the packages are limited, and additional payments are demanded during treatment. Due to the limited package coverage for serious illnesses, poor families are forced to discontinue treatment midway or take out loans.

Haryana Ayushman Bharat Scheme Failure: Pending Payments, Increased Waiting Lists in Hospitals

Dhanda stated that the Haryana government owes private hospitals crores of rupees under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The High Court issued a notice to the central and state governments regarding this matter in January 2026. Due to payment delays and technical problems, many government and private hospitals have long waiting lists for surgeries, preventing patients from receiving timely treatment.

Anurag Dhanda Statement: Punjab Model Hailed as an Example for the Country

In contrast, under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, individuals from all income groups receive free treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh. Anurag Dhanda said that this scheme considers healthcare a right, not a favour. He added that in the Arvind Kejriwal model, healthcare is considered a service, not a political tool, and this scheme will emerge as a model for the entire country in the future.
