Anurag Dhanda on Nayab Saini: Aam Aadmi Party’s National Media In-charge, Anurag Dhanda, strongly condemned the absurd statements made by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh while standing on Punjabi soil. He said that the statements made by CM Nayab Singh are not only factually incorrect but also a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and divert attention from the failures and scams of BJP government in Haryana. The Chief Minister’s attitude on sensitive issues like floods, farmers’ compensation, and assistance to labourers is highly irresponsible.
A government that cannot provide justice to its own farmers and labourers in its own state has no moral right to preach to others. Anurag Dhanda further stated that today in Punjab, Haryana CM Nayab Singh admitted that the BJP government in Delhi has shut down the Mohalla Clinics. This clearly shows that the BJP does not provide facilities to the people; instead, it shuts them down.

He said that the biggest example is the work-slip scam of approximately Rs 1500 crore that surfaced in the Haryana Labour Department, which exposed the historic deception perpetrated against poor labourers. An investigation into around 6 lakh work slips in the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board revealed that more than 5.46 lakh were fake, meaning over 90 percent were fraudulent.
Out of 2.21 lakh registrations, only 14,240 were found to be genuine. An average of Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh per person was siphoned off from schemes like maternity benefits, education assistance, and scholarships in the names of fake labourers, while the real labourers are still running around government offices. This scam is not the mistake of a low-level employee, but the result of an organised corrupt system that received political patronage.
Anurag Dhanda said that Manohar Lal Khattar was the Chief Minister of Haryana from 2014 to 2024, and after March 2024, Nayab Singh Saini became the Chief Minister, but despite the change in leadership, the character of the BJP government did not change. From Khattar to Saini, scams remained not an exception, but a part of the style of governance. In the last 11 years, more than 20 major scams have come to light in Haryana, resulting in losses of thousands of crores of rupees, as confirmed by CAG reports, court observations, ED-Vigilance investigations, and registered FIRs.

He said that the plunder in the mining sector is the biggest example of this. An assessment revealed a government loss of over Rs 2000 crore due to illegal mining in Nuh district, where more than 80 crore tons of mineral material were extracted from the Aravalli hills. Investigating agencies confirmed a loss of approximately Rs 1200 crore in the Dadum area of Bhiwani, and seven labourers died in the 2022 landslide.
According to the CAG report, illegal mining and royalty evasion in the Aravalli region resulted in a loss of over Rs 5000 crore, while NGT had to impose a fine of Rs 66 crore. In Yamunanagar, more than 860 FIRs were registered against illegal mining during 2025, yet the mafia remained fearless.
He said that a massive scam also took place in paddy procurement in the name of farmers. FIRs registered in 2025 in several districts, including Karnal, revealed that 24,431 quintals of paddy, worth approximately Rs 6.31 crore, were found missing from the records of a single mill. The total loss was estimated at over Rs 4000 crore due to fake gate passes and showing cheap paddy from other states as procured at MSP. Farmers were left struggling for payment, while the mafia and mill owners remained safe.

Anurag Dhanda said that the biggest injustice to the youth of Haryana has been in the form of recruitment scams. Between 2014 and 2024, more than 20 recruitment scams came to light, including HTET, HSSC, HPSC, and police recruitment, leading to over 29 FIRs and the cancellation of several exams. In 2025, a case of cheating youth through a fake recruitment website also came to light, proving that the corrupt network is still active.
Anurag Dhanda said that these scams have directly impacted Haryana’s economic condition. After 2014, the state’s debt has increased to approximately Rs 4 lakh crore by 2024-25. The question is, if so much debt was taken, where did the money go? Neither the condition of government schools improved, nor that of hospitals, nor did farmers’ income increase, nor did the youth get permanent employment. It is clear that this debt was not used for development, but rather fell prey to corruption and plunder.
Farmers did not receive full and timely compensation
Anurag Dhanda said that against this backdrop, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s speech in Punjab on flood compensation and central assistance is completely hypocritical. When thousands of acres of crops were destroyed in Haryana, hundreds of villages were affected, and farmers did not receive full and timely compensation, the Chief Minister remained silent. Even today, many farmers do not know whether they will receive compensation or not. In contrast, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab ensured compensation of up to ₹20,000 per acre for crop damage, assistance of ₹4 lakh to the families of those who died, and direct payments into bank accounts through a transparent online system.

He said that statements like “the people of Punjab have made up their minds” are proof of arrogance and being out of touch with reality. The public is intelligent and knows who did real work during the crisis and who only indulged in rhetoric. Chief Minister Saini’s funny and hollow statements cannot change the truth.
Aam Aadmi Party demands that an impartial inquiry be conducted by CBI or under the supervision of the High Court into all major scams since 2014, including those related to labour, mining, paddy procurement, and recruitment, regardless of the position of those involved. A strict and transparent mining policy should be implemented to protect the Aravalli hills and rivers, and a white paper should be issued on the ₹4 lakh crore debt. The Aam Aadmi Party stands with the farmers, labourers, and youth. This is not a fight for power, but a fight to free Haryana from corruption and plunder. BJP government will have to answer to the people about when this mountain of scams and debt will finally be cleared after 11 years.
