Aligarh Muslim University professor shot dead during walk, Bike-Borne assailants open fire

AMU Professor Shot Dead: A Professor was shot dead on Wednesday night on the campus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMI). He had gone for a usual walk after dinner. At around 9:30 pm, Professor arrived at the Maulana Azad Library canteen with two of his friends, Two miscreants, were riding motorcycle, opened fire. Gunfire created a situation of panic among the students present inside canteen.

These miscreants shot the professor by directly hitting into head. Police arrived at the location after receiving the information. The injured teacher was immediately rushed towards Medical College, where doctors claimed him dead.

Danish was a Professor at Union College

The deceased professor’s name was Rao Danish, and was a former student at AMU, currently taught at ABK Union School, was shot five to six times by bike-borne assailants and died at the medical college. Whereas, his father professor Hilal and mother are both retired from AMU. SSP Neeraj Kumar Jadon personally arrived at the scene where police officials are also examining the campus CCTV footage. Few days ago, students informed administration and police about the illegal entry of outsiders into AMU, currently police is investigating this aspect as well.

It is reported that he fell to the ground after being hit in the head by bullets. Even then, criminals did not stop and continued firing. After committing the murder, criminals fled. Meanwhile, SSP Neeraj Jadon stated that the criminals who opened fire and the professor knew each other. A team has been formed under leadership of the SP City to investigate the matter.
