Air India New Announcement: Following IndiGo crisis, Air India and Air India Express have stated that they are in the process of ensuring compliance with latest directives issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding airfare caps. The airlines said that in view of widespread inconvenience being faced by passengers across the country, Air India and Air India Express have announced several proactive measures to help stranded passengers reach their destinations.
Air India stated that a cap has already been placed on economy class fares for domestic non-stop flights since December 4th. This is intended to prevent fares from escalating excessively due to the automated revenue management system, which adjusts prices based on demand and supply. Furthermore, Air India and other airlines are also in the process of complying with the new fare regulations issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on December 6th.
Air India New Announcement: No charges for ticket changes and cancellations

Air India and Air India Express have offered special waivers on change and cancellation fees for domestic flights to provide greater convenience to passengers. Passengers who booked tickets with either airline by December 4th for travel up to December 15th can change their travel dates without paying any rescheduling fees. They can also cancel their tickets and receive a full refund without any cancellation charges.
Air India stated that this facility is a one-time offer and is valid only for changes or cancellations made by December 8th. If passengers change their flight dates and there is a difference in the fare, they will have to pay the additional amount.
Additional staff deployed for customer care

Air India stated that passengers who wish to change or cancel their bookings using this one-time waiver can do so by calling the airline’s 24×7 contact centre or through any travel agent worldwide. Additionally, to handle the increased call volume and provide quicker responses, Air India and Air India Express have deployed additional staff and resources at their help centres.
