AAP News Update: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on BJP over the law and order situation and civic issues in Delhi. Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal alleged that BJP has “ruined Delhi in just one year” and accused the government of being indifferent to people’s lives, questioning how many more lives would be lost due to what he termed negligence.

Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that people were dying after falling into DDA drains under the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, despite his self-proclaimed expertise in managing the city’s rivers and drains. He further said that while six murders were reported within 24 hours in one part of Delhi, the Chief Minister was busy with public events elsewhere. Bharadwaj also remarked that the LG, who earlier pointed out shortcomings of the AAP government, has now been “missing” for the past year.

AAP News Update: AAP targets BJP over rising crime and fatal civic negligence in Delhi

A string of fatal incidents has once again placed Delhi’s law and civic administration under intense scrutiny, with innocent lives being lost as relentless negligence by the BJP’s four-engine government. As cases of murders surge and tragic deaths continue due to people falling into open drains and uncovered pits, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious concerns over the paralysed and unresponsive governance system in the national capital.
Pointing out that the BJP is presiding over a deepening crisis of safety and accountability, AAP has questioned how long such lapses will continue while the government machinery remains silent.

Taking to X, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated: “The BJP has ruined the entire Delhi in just one year. They do not care about the lives of the people at all. How many more lives will this negligent government take before it comes to its senses?”

Addressing the growing incidents of murder and fatal accidents, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj said that Delhi has a self-declared expert on rivers and drains in the form of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, and that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) falls under him. “Not only this, but it is unclear at how many places drains under the Delhi government and the DDA are lying open, leading to people falling into them and losing their lives,” he pointed out.

AAP questions LG’s silence, blames BJP for civic failures and rising crime

AAP Delhi Unit Chief noted that there was a time when the LG called himself the local guardian. He would wear a cap and glasses, arrive with an entire team of officers, and point out shortcomings of the then AAP government. “Now he has been missing for a year and is not even writing letters to the government, because the reality of the BJP’s four-engine government has been exposed before everyone,” he said.

He further said that two years ago, when a youth fell into a DDA drain in East Delhi, it was immediately claimed that it did not belong to them and was under the MCD. He said they were always at the forefront of shifting blame onto others. “But today the MCD, the DDA, the Delhi government, the LG and the Central government are all under the BJP,” he stated.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that today if there is a pit anywhere, it belongs to the BJP. If there is an open drain anywhere, it belongs to the BJP. If a building collapses anywhere, it is the BJP’s responsibility. “If a 14-year-old child is murdered while returning from school, that too is the BJP’s responsibility,” he said.

He said that six murders are taking place within 24 hours in Delhi. Students of Class 10 and Class 9 are being killed. People are being stabbed in the head. Despite this, there is no statement from the LG, no statement from the Union Home Minister, and no statement from the Chief Minister.

AAP alleges “two Delhis” as crime rises, accuses leaders of silence and insensitivity

Saurabh Bharadwaj said everyone is silent and it appears as if all this is happening in some other Delhi. “They seem to be moving around in a different Delhi, where bhajans are being held, ribbons are being cut, there is singing and dancing, and chole bhature are being eaten. The Chief Minister has a different Delhi altogether,” he said.

In a post on X, Saurabh Bharadwaj said that there are two Delhis in the capital. “One Delhi belongs to the people and the other belongs to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. In one Delhi, six people are being murdered within 24 hours and families are losing their loved ones after they fall into drains and pits. In the other Delhi, the Chief Minister is singing, dancing, cutting ribbons and eating chole bhature. If this were happening to her own son, would a mother behave like this?” he asked.
