AAP Foundation Day: Today is the foundation day of Aam Aadmi Party, which on October 2, 2012, marked a turning point in India’s political history, launching the crowdsourcing model of electoral fundraising to achieve its first electoral victory. On its foundation day today, party convener Arvind Kejriwal said, “I offer my heartfelt tribute to millions of comrades, all volunteers, and every common man across the country,” and assured them that honest politics can be practiced.

AAP Party Inauguration Date

The Aam Aadmi Party was launched on October 2, 2012. Men and women, old and young, rich and poor-all were welcomed into this new party as ordinary citizens. With the promise of eliminating corruption and offering a different model of politics, the Aam Aadmi Party had a stellar start and entered the fray for the Delhi Assembly elections in December 2013.
Arvind Kejriwal Entry in Politics

After deciding to contest the Delhi Assembly elections, party raised several broad issues in Delhi and launched a movement against ruling Congress government, the water tanker mafia, and power companies. These movements and hunger strikes bolstered the party’s political strength, leading to a major upset in the Delhi Assembly elections, winning 28 out of 70 seats.
