Independence Day 2025 Theme: On August 15, 2025, India will mark its 79th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations at Delhi's Red Fort, where he will hoist the national flag and address the nation from this iconic location. It is noteworthy that the country is swiftly advancing towards achieving the government's goal of a developed India by 2047.

The celebrations on August 15th will act as a venue to honor the ongoing ascent of a thriving, safe, and bold new India, infusing fresh vigor to advance on the path of development. This year's theme for the celebrations is 'New India'. It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has frequently discussed the concept of a new India in his speeches, emphasizing that this new India is capable of delivering a strong response to terrorists.

Independence Day 2025 Guests

This year, approximately 5,000 guests from diverse sectors have been invited to the festivities at the Red Fort. Additionally, over 1,500 individuals dressed in traditional attire from different states and union territories have been invited to participate in the grand event.

Recognising the efforts towards empowering women and children and ensuring essential services, 171 special guests will attend the event. The invited guests include Anganwadi workers and supervisors, children from CCIS and PM CARES, Child Development Project Officers, District Child Protection Officers, One Stop Centre staff and other officials from the Department of Women and Child Development of States and Union Territories.

Independence Day 2025 Theme: Independence Day Program List

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be given a guard of honour.

• The contingent for the Guard of Honour will comprise 96 personnel and will be commanded by Wing Commander A.S. Sekhon.

• PM Modi will hoist the national flag at the Red Fort and Flying Officer Rashika Sharma will assist PM Modi in hoisting the national flag.

• A 21-gun salute will be conducted, utilizing the locally made 105 mm Light Field Gun for the cannon fire.

• The Air Force Band, consisting of one JCO and 25 other ranks, will play the National Anthem during the hoisting of the National Flag and presentation of the National Salute.

• Two MI-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force will shower flowers at the venue.

• One helicopter will fly with the national flag and the other helicopter will fly with the flag of Operation Sindoor.

• The captains of the helicopters will be Wing Commander Vinay Poonia and Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal.

• The success of Operation Sindoor will be celebrated during the Independence Day celebrations this year.

• Following the floral tribute, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a speech to the nation.
