There is a steady improvement in the air quality in Delhi. The air quality index (AQI) of the capital was recorded at 95 on Tuesday, which falls in the 'satisfactory' category. During this period, Vivek Vihar was the best performing hotspot with an AQI of 70. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa described it as the result of strict action of the government, zero tolerance policy and ground efforts. He said that whether it is pollution control or preparation for monsoon, the Delhi government team is fully engaged in the field.

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "The satisfactory AQI is not a coincidence, but it is the result of daily hard work, coordination among departments and responsibility." It was told that in the last 24 hours, many important works have been done in the capital. Of these, 102 old vehicles (more than 10/15 years old) were seized. As many as 13,864 pollution challans were deducted. A total of 11,015 MT of garbage was removed. As many as 6,454 km of roads have been cleaned and 1,326 km of roads have been sprinkled. Minister Sirsa said that making Delhi clean and pollution-free is not just a goal but a responsibility, which every department and public representative is fulfilling with utmost seriousness.

"We are not waiting for problems to happen, we are already resolving," he said. All this is being done with the aim of realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Developed India' and 'Developed Delhi'. The minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the government is introducing a new governance model, from dust control to cleaning of drains and technical monitoring, which is based on speed, transparency and honesty.
