Trump's invite declined by PM Modi after 35 minutes phone call
In a 35-minute call, PM Modi declined Trump's invitation to visit the US, citing prior commitments. Trump expressed support for India's fight against terrorism, and Modi briefed him on Operation Sindoor.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has traveled to Canada for the G-7 summit. Concurrently, due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, US President Trump has returned to the United States from Canada.
PM Modi and President Trump engaged in a phone conversation lasting approximately 35 minutes, during which Trump invited Modi to visit the US, but Modi declined the offer. Throughout the call, PM Modi informed President Trump about India's Operation Sindoor.
Information given by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri
PM Modi conveyed strongly that India has never accepted mediation on issues with Pakistan and will never accept mediation. Misri stated that Prime Minister Modi emphasized to President Trump that topics such as the US-India trade agreement or US mediation between India and Pakistan were never discussed at any level. The matter of halting military operations was directly addressed between India and Pakistan via their established military channels, which was initiated at Pakistan's request.
Mediation not accepted
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said Prime Minister Modi emphasised that India has "never accepted, does not accept and will never accept mediation". There is complete political consensus in India on this issue. The remarks came after the US President repeatedly claimed that he had used trade as a tool to end hostilities between India and Pakistan. US President Trump understood the details of the Prime Minister and expressed support for India's fight against terrorism.
Invitation to visit the United States
During this conversation, the US President also invited Prime Minister Modi to come to America, but due to pre-determined programs, Prime Minister Modi had to reject the offer.
