Delhi minister Ashish Sood emphasized the central government's initiatives to enhance the nation's sports framework, noting that many individuals from various societal segments joined the 'Sunday on Cycle' event as part of the Fit India Movement in the capital. Sood took part in the 25th edition of the 'Fit India Sunday on Cycle' campaign held in Janakpuri, Delhi.

Speaking to media persons, Sood said, "PM Narendra Modi has taken several steps to strengthen the sports ecosystem of the country. Under the same, Fit India Movement and Khelo India Movement are popular in the country. Today, hundreds of youngsters, children, school students and elderly people of Janakpuri area have come out for the 'Sunday on Cycle' campaign under the Fit India Movement to carry forward this campaign of Modi ji. "

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya took part in the 25th 'Fit India Sunday on Cycle' event, which also saw the participation of actress Sharvari Wagh. The event is being held at over 5000 venues nationwide to honor our courageous soldiers involved in Operation Sindoor.

Launched in December 2024, the Sunday On Bicycle program has achieved remarkable success, reaching more than 5,500 locations and involving over 300,000 participants. The initiative has also accumulated over 3.44 billion digital impressions, supported by icons such as Sania Mirza, Milind Soman, Emraan Hashmi, John Abraham, Imtiaz Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, and the legendary Dara Singh.

On Sundays, various Sports Authority of India (SAI) centers and Khelo India Centers (KIC) organize community-oriented fitness activities like Zumba, rope jumping, guided yoga sessions, and complimentary health check-ups by experts from the National Sports Science and Research Centre (NCSSR) during cycling events. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, today's event, which aligns with World Bicycle Day on June 3, aims to emphasize cycling's significant role in fitness and also acts as a unified tribute to India's armed forces.
