Fire erupts in Delhi's Kotla market, Six shops gutted
New Delhi: Six shops were gutted in a fire that broke out in Delhi's Kotla Sewa Nagar market on Wednesday morning. The fire department took prompt action and brought the fire under control. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
A blaze erupted in the Kotla Sewa Nagar market in Delhi early in the morning, destroying six shops. Upon receiving the fire report, fire brigade vehicles promptly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames. Manoj Kumar, a fire officer with the Delhi Fire Service, stated, "We got the call at around 4 am. Upon arrival, we found all six shops engulfed in flames, which included stores selling tarpaulins, cosmetics, and clothing. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. We quickly initiated measures to control the fire."
Fire Officer Manoj Kumar reported that eight fire engines were dispatched, and the blaze is now under control. The origin of the fire remains unknown, according to officials. In another incident, a fire erupted at a private school in Delhi's Nirman Vihar Colony, located within the jurisdiction of the Preet Vihar police station, late Tuesday night.
Fire Officer Feroz Khan reported that five fire engines were sent to tackle the fire, with no casualties reported. The alert was received at 8:55 p.m., and the fire engines arrived swiftly to combat the blaze. The fire impacted a school building and a nearby vehicle, but thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties.
