DDA's Latest Scheme: Buy flats in Delhi's Narela with new innovations
The Delhi Development Authority has launched the 'Apna Ghar Awas Yojana 2025', offering flats in Narela and other areas with innovative digital services to enhance buyer experience. This scheme, open to all Indian citizens aged 18 and above, aims to boost public confidence and has contributed to DDA's impressive profit after a decade of losses.
On Tuesday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena introduced the Delhi Development Authority's latest housing initiative, 'Apna Ghar Awas Yojana 2025'. This scheme will offer flats for sale in Loknayakpuram, Siraspur, and Narela, catering to different categories such as EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG.
The scheme is open to everyone, providing Indian citizens who are 18 years or older the chance to purchase a comprehensive and appealing home on a first-come, first-served basis. According to an official announcement, the 'Apna Ghar Awas Yojana 2025' stems from the success of the DDA Sabka Ghar Awas Yojana 2025 and the DDA Shramik Awas Yojana 2025, which were introduced in January 2025.
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative, LG has introduced various innovative strategies through the DDA to assist home buyers. These include a single-window inquiry system on the website, efficient information dissemination to buyers, and the provision of all property-related and ownership documents to purchasers, which have greatly enhanced public trust and confidence in the DDA, according to the statement. Further advancing innovation, LG also unveiled a dedicated chat-bot service designed for DDA housing schemes. This chat-bot provides numerous advantages to the public, enhancing the buyer experience with 24/7 citizen support, improved communication, and public transparency, offering continuous assistance on housing schemes, applications, and allotment inquiries.
After over a decade of financial losses, the DDA has reported a notable profit of Rs 1,371 crore by the close of the 2024-25 fiscal year. This year's significant surplus is mainly due to the outstanding sales of housing units across various categories and locations. With several projects in progress, LG has emphasized boosting civic infrastructure in the Narela suburb. The presence of university campuses, the planned international sports complex, institutions, court complexes, policing, and the forthcoming education hub with improved connectivity have greatly contributed to Narela's popularity among buyers. Furthermore, the launch of the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor of the Delhi Metro has increased its local benefits.
