Indore Police file case against Minister Shah for remarks on Colonel Sophia

Indore: A case has been registered at Manpur police station in Indore over the remarks made by Madhya Pradesh Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah against Army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Indore Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimish Agarwal said that the investigation is underway after the case has been registered. Further action will be taken only after investigation. Recently, Minister Vijay Shah had made indecent remarks on Army officer Sophia Qureshi, who was representing the Indian Army during the 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan. The High Court took suo motu cognizance of this statement and ordered the police to register a case. Indore Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimish Agarwal told reporters that on the orders of the High Court, a case has been registered against the minister at Manpur police station under sections 152, 196 and 1987 and investigation is underway. Further action will be taken based on whatever facts come out.

Vijay Shah, a minister in the Mohan Yadav government, gave a controversial statement recently. The High Court took suo motu cognizance of this statement and made a strong comment. "The minister's statement that Colonel Qureshi is the sister of the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack is a matter of promoting hatred and separatist sentiments," it said. It is a threat to the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country.

After the High Court's order, the police have registered a case. At the same time, a meeting was also held between Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and BJP state president Vishnu Dutt Sharma late on Wednesday night. The Congress is also an attacker on this matter. Demonstrations are going on everywhere. So far, the party has not been able to take any decision on Vijay Shah's case. There is a possibility in political circles that the party's stand will be revealed soon.
