CM Yogi slams Ram Gopal Yadav's controversial comments on Vyomika Singh
Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ram Gopal Yadav has made controversial remarks against Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, one of the heroines of 'Operation Sindoor'. During a program in Bilari, Moradabad, Ramgopal used casteist words for him, which has led to a political uproar. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has described it as an insult to the army and the country's pride. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned Ramgopal Yadav's remarks, saying, "Army uniforms are not seen through casteist prisms. Every soldier performs the Rashtra Dharma and is not a representative of any caste or religion. ”
Ramgopal Yadav's statement: "This war has been fought by PDA"
Ramgopal Yadav said, "Wing Commander Vyomika Singh is a Jatav of Haryana..., but the BJP did not say anything considering her as a Rajput, while Colonel Sophia Qureshi was abused only for being a Muslim." He further said that the three top officers involved in Operation Sindoor — Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti (Yadav), Colonel Sophia Qureshi (Muslim), and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (Jatav) — are from the PDA i.e. Backward, Dalit, and Minority sections. "This entire war has been fought by the PDA, on what basis is the BJP taking credit for it?"
CM Yogi's scathing retort: "Don't divide the army into castes"
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned Ramgopal Yadav's remarks, saying, "Army uniforms are not seen through casteist prisms. Every soldier performs the Rashtra Dharma and is not a representative of any caste or religion. The CM also said that "tying the Veerangana daughter to the periphery of caste shows the narrow mindset of the SP." It is this appeasement mentality that wants to divide patriotism into vote-bank politics. ”
Vyomika and Sofia were in the discussion at the press conference
Four press conferences were held under 'Operation Sindoor', in which Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri along with Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi participated. The role of these two was appreciated in social media and mainstream media.
