It's common to see a child from a disadvantaged background reach a prominent status through dedication and effort. While such stories are frequent, today we'll share the tale of two women who, despite initially being illiterate, succeeded in passing the SSC examination through sheer hard work.

Media reports indicate that Priyanka Kamble, a 27-year-old from Pune and a member of the Swachh Cooperative Society, is the first woman to pass the SSC exam. Previously, Kamble's education was limited to Class 3. After getting married and moving to her in-laws' home in Solapur, she faced frequent insults for being 'illiterate.' Distressed by this, she decided to leave her in-laws' house and moved to Pune, where she worked as a rag picker.

In 2022, Priyanka returned to her studies at Ramabai Ranade School, juggling morning garbage collection, preparing meals for her son, and attending school in the afternoon. Often, the teachers accommodated her despite tardiness. This year, she achieved 48% in the SSC exam. Upon passing, her husband called to congratulate her and suggested celebrating by distributing sweets. Priyanka now aspires to become an Anganwadi worker.
