Delhi Villages Transform into Bouncer Training Grounds
The villages of Asola and Fatehpur Beri, located near Chhatarpur in Delhi, are today called "India's most powerful villages". The identity of the youth here has now reached beyond wrestling to becoming bouncers. When Vijay Tanwar, a wrestler from the village, could not make it to the Olympics, he decided to become a bouncer. His success showed a new path to the youth of the village. Now becoming a bouncer here is not only considered a profession but a matter of honor.
Bodyguards and bouncers are coming out of every house
Hundreds of young men in these twin villages are now working as bouncers at clubs, events and VIP security across the country. Fitness and discipline have become a part of the daily routine here. Children are given wrestling and gym training from an early age.
Changing identities, growing respect
While the rest of the villages are engaged in farming or labour, Asola-Fatehpur Beri has made power its profession. This village has now become a symbol of youth power, fitness and security.
