Defence Minister opens BrahMos Aerospace centre in Lucknow

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the BrahMos Aerospace integration and testing facility in Lucknow today. The centre will accelerate the development of defence and aerospace manufacturing clusters in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. This modern centre is spread over 200 acres and produces the BrahMos-NG version.

Today, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will open the BrahMos Aerospace integration and testing facility in Lucknow. On December 26, 2021, he initiated the establishment of the Defence Technology and Testing Centre and BrahMos Manufacturing Centre, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

An unprecedented Defence Technology and Testing Centre (DTTC) has been established on approximately 22 acres to hasten the growth of defence and aerospace manufacturing hubs within the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.

BrahMos missile to be developed in Uttar Pradesh

BrahMos Aerospace has announced a cutting-edge manufacturing plant located at the Lucknow node of UP DIC, covering 200 acres. This facility is dedicated to producing the latest BrahMos-NG variant, continuing the legacy of the BrahMos weapon system. Additionally, a Defense Technology and Testing Centre has been established to fulfill the Memorandum of Understanding exchanged between Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and DRDO during DefExpo-2020 in Lucknow, witnessed by the Defence Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Will accelerate product development

The creation of a cutting-edge centralized technology infrastructure will assist industries by speeding up product development and minimizing the time required for induction and the development of future systems through its six substations. It will offer comprehensive support to industries, startups, and academia within UP DIC, fostering business growth and facilitating operations for industries and startups in UPDIC, thereby aiding in the development of a self-sufficient India.
