Air Force Chief meets PM Modi amid ceasefire violations
The Pakistani army has been violating the ceasefire continuously for the last eight days. Small arms firing is being carried out along the Line of Control (LoC) in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir, triggering tension and fear in the border areas. Tensions between India and Pakistan are once again at a peak. After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, there is an atmosphere of anger and concern in the country. New Delhi: Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi on Sunday. The meeting took place at a sensitive time when the central government has taken several tough steps against Pakistan. Prior to this meeting of the Air Force Chief, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has also met the Prime Minister on Saturday. It is clear from these frequent meetings that this time the government is working not only on rhetoric but on concrete strategy. From a military and strategic point of view, this is an indication that India is fully prepared to give a befitting reply to Pakistan. This development is considered to be such a big and decisive development for the first time since the 2019 Pulwama attack.
Tension rises after Pahlegam terror attack
On April 22, 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a horrific terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. This attack is considered to be the biggest terrorist attack after the Pulwama attack of 2019. An organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba has taken responsibility for the attack, which has further provoked India's anger.
India has taken tough decisions on Pakistan
Following the attack, India took strict action against Pakistan and announced the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Attari border and downgrading diplomatic relations. Further, all visas granted to Pakistani nationals have been cancelled and they have been ordered to leave India by April 30. Also, India has closed its airspace for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights.
Pakistan's response is also threatening.
In response to India's decisions, Pakistan has banned all trade activities with India, including through third countries. Along with this, the use of Pakistani airspace for Indian airlines has also been restricted.
