Shigar residents rally against resource exploitation by Pakistan
Protests against Pakistan have been increasing since the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Residents of Shigar district staged protests against the crisis of mineral resources and the policies of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Various religious and political leaders strongly condemned the policies of the government and termed it as a violation of the rights of the people.
After the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan seems to be constantly surrounded. While on the one hand, the Government of India has taken many big decisions against Pakistan, on the other hand, the Pakistan Army has already fled from the battlefield, many cowardly soldiers of the Pakistani Army have resigned due to fear of India. On the third hand, the army of Balochistan is also ready against Pakistan and now the residents of Shigar district of Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan have protested fiercely against the crisis of mineral resources. He also opposed Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's plan to use the region's natural resources to repay the country's debts.
Strong condemnation from various speakers
Starting from Hussaini Chowk in Shigar, a protest rally was organised as part of the movement for protection of mountains, pastures, minerals and land. Various religious leaders and political activists participated in the rally. Throughout the protest, various speakers including Allama Agha Ali Rizvi (MWM Gilgit-Baltistan), Syed Abbas Mousavi, Syed Taha Shamsuddin, former members of the Assembly Imran Nadeem, Sheikh Hassan Jauhri and Sheikh Mushtaq Hakimi strongly condemned the act and termed it a violation of people's rights. According to him, due to wrong decisions of the government, such a situation arose that the public had to protest.
Condemnation of government policies
The speakers made it clear that even though the protest was peaceful, any move to ignore the demand of the people would further intensify the agitation. He condemned the policies of the government and made it clear that any use of force will be strongly opposed at all levels. The protest leaders also announced that the locals are ready to shut down all survey and mineral extraction operations until the controversial bill is withdrawn.
