2 Terrorists killed in Baramulla as Army thwarts infiltration attempt
Security forces in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, thwarted an infiltration attempt by terrorists, killing two in a fierce gun battle. A fierce gun battle erupted between security forces and terrorists in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, thwarting an infiltration attempt. Two terrorists were killed in the ongoing operation, which effectively halted their effort to cross the Line of Control.
Army personnel confiscated weapons, ammunition, and other military supplies from the terrorists. Notably, the military action is still in progress. This operation follows a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in 28 fatalities. The Resistance Front, a local offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the massacre.
The Chinar Cops-Indian Army X handle in a post confirmed the operation. The post stated, "Heavy exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists, two terrorists have been eliminated, infiltration bid foiled by the security forces in the ongoing Operation. Large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores have been recovered from the terrorists. Operation is in progress."
As per Chinar Cops, around 2-3 unknown terrorists tried to breach the general area of Sarjeevan at Uri Nala, Baramulla on Wednesday. Vigilant troops at the Line of Control confronted and stopped them, leading to an intense gunfight.
This move follows a devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals around 2:30 pm on Tuesday. The Resistance Front, a local branch of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the massacre.
Eyewitnesses described harrowing scenes as gunfire rang out in the open grassland, sending tourists scrambling for safety. “There was no place to hide,” one survivor said, recounting the chaos.
In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and cut short his Saudi Arabia trip. Home Minister Amit Shah, after the attack, called a high-level security meeting and will travel to Pahalgam for an urgent security review.
