UP Govt transfers 33 IAS Officers, Vishal Singh appointed New Information Director
The Uttar Pradesh government has caused a significant shake-up by transferring 33 IAS officers, including the appointment of Vishal Singh as the new Information Director in the Yogi administration. Singh, who played a key role in the development of Ayodhya, replaces Shishir, who has been reassigned to new roles in the MSME and Khadi sectors.
The UP government has transferred 33 IAS officers, causing a significant stir in the state. Among those transferred is IAS Vishal Singh, who has been assigned the crucial role of Information Director in the Yogi administration.
Last night, a major shake-up occurred within the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy. The transfer of administrative and police officers caused quite a commotion. In total, 3 IPS and 24 PPS officers were reassigned, along with 33 IAS officers. Among those transferred were several officers who had been in the same position for an extended period, including Information Director Shishir. Shishir has now been given new responsibilities, and IAS Vishal Singh has taken over as the new Information Director. Shishir is now serving as the Special Secretary for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Export Promotion Department, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the Khadi and Village Industries Board.
Vishal Singh, known for his pivotal role in beautifying Ayodhya, is considered a trusted aide of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Promoted to IAS officer status in 2021, Singh served as the Vice Chairman of the Ayodhya Development Authority from 2020 to 2024. He played a crucial part in executing the city's development projects, including the Ram temple construction. In the latest UP IAS reshuffle, he has been appointed as the Information Director.
Vishal Singh was appointed as the District Magistrate of Bhadohi on February 28 last year. Thus, IAS Vishal Singh has been managing the duties of the DM of Bhadohi for over a year. He has now been entrusted with a significant new role. IAS Vishal Singh has been appointed as the Information Director of Uttar Pradesh. In the transfers carried out on Monday night, Vishal Singh has been assigned the responsibilities of Special Secretary of the Culture Department and Director of Information and Culture.
During his tenure as a PCS officer, Vishal Singh held several significant positions in Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Kasganj, Bijnor, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. Recognizing his competence and effectiveness, he was elevated from PCS to IAS cadre in 2021. Following his promotion, Vishal Singh was appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of Ayodhya Municipal Corporation and the Vice President of Ayodhya Development Authority.
Vishal Singh has previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, a dream project of PM Narendra Modi, was completed under his leadership. PM Modi commended his efforts publicly for this achievement. In addition to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, IAS Vishal Singh also played a significant role during the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
