AAP declines Mayor Election participation, cites BJP manipulation

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made a big announcement regarding the Delhi mayoral election. Former Delhi CM Atishi has said that this Aam Aadmi Party will not contest the mayoral election. Today is the last day for filing nominations for the mayoral election and today the Aam Aadmi Party has announced that it will not contest the mayor election. At the same time, Atishi has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of sabotaging the elections. Atishi said, "Wherever BJP loses elections, it forms governments by adopting equal discrimination. The BJP forms the government by breaking other parties.

'BJP should run its own triple engine government'

"MCD elections were held simultaneously with the Gujarat polls, but none of their efforts were successful. In the last two-and-a-half years, the BJP has broken the councillors of the Aam Aadmi Party and taken them with it. We don't believe in buying or selling any MLA or councillor. At present, the BJP has a majority in the MCD with  the demolition. We don't do politics of sabotage, so we are not contesting elections this time. The BJP should run its triple engine government.

We will be a strong opposition: Atishi

Atishi further said, "Now BJP should fulfill the responsibility of Delhi's law and cleanliness. We will play the politics of a strong opposition. The former CM said, "BJP has increased its strength in the corporation by sabotage, if we want to win the election, we will have to do it, which we cannot do." Therefore, we have decided not to contest the MCD elections this time. We want the BJP to run its triple engine government. The central government is with them, the Delhi government is with them, now they should also form the government of MCD.

AAP-BJP pretending to sacrifice

After the Aam Aadmi Party's decision not to participate in the mayor elections, the BJP is now targeting the AAP's move. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, "The Aam Aadmi Party is well aware that it has not only lost majority in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, but has also stalled the administrative and maintenance work of the municipal corporation in the last two-and-a-half years." For this reason, the Aam Aadmi Party is now pretending to sacrifice.
