Rajasthan inaugurates 1.3 GW solar power plant, boosts renewable energy
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated a 1.3 gigawatt solar power plant at Pokhran in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The project will provide employment to 1,500 people and boost the potential of solar power generation in the state. At present, 41,883 MW of renewable energy projects are being developed in the state, in which an investment of about Rs 2.5 lakh crore is proposed.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday inaugurated a 1.3 GW solar power plant set up by ReNew Power at Pokhran in Jaisalmer district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Rajasthan has immense potential for solar power generation and the state government is working with full commitment to realize it.
Electricity will be available at cheap prices
The Chief Minister said that this plant will not only strengthen the energy self-sufficiency of the state, but will also provide electricity to the consumers at cheaper rates. Apart from this, this project will also provide employment opportunities to about 1500 people. "Solar energy is the cleanest, sustainable and accessible option. Now the time has come for every household to embrace this energy and make itself energy productive. "
Rajasthan becomes the leading state
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan has become a leading state in the field of solar and renewable energy in the country. The state has been honored by the Central Government for securing the first position in the field of solar energy and second place in the field of total renewable energy. At present, 41,883 MW of renewable energy projects are being developed in the state, in which an investment of about Rs 2.5 lakh crore is proposed.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of renewable energy, the Chief Minister said that the Union Government has set a target of producing 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, in which Rajasthan's role will be very important.
