Delhi children to enjoy 51-day summer break in 2025
Delhi's Directorate of Education has announced a 51-day summer vacation for government and government-aided schools from May 11 to June 30, 2025. This break will offer relief from the heat and allow children to pursue hobbies and other interests.
The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has published the academic calendar for 2025-26, detailing the holidays for government and government-aided schools. As per the calendar, summer vacations for these schools in Delhi will commence on May 11 and continue until June 30, spanning 51 days.
The academic schedule will apply to both government and government-supported schools in the capital. Summer breaks will provide students with a respite from the intense heat. During this time off, students can engage in their hobbies and acquire new skills. Additionally, children can spend time with their parents on outings.
As per the academic calendar, students in all government and government-aided schools in Delhi will have holidays from May 11, 2025, to June 30, 2025. The autumn vacation in the academic calendar includes holidays from September 29, 2025, to October 1, 2025. Additionally, winter holidays are scheduled from January 1, 2026, to January 15, 2026.
General guidelines:
-Monthly internal meetings should be held for Assistant Teachers (Nursery and Primary).
-OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) meetings should be held and implemented in the respective schools.
-Subject-wise time table should be implemented in all classes.
-Monthly assessments of students must be done in the final week and entered into the CPT module by the end of the month.
-The integration of art into regular teaching is mandatory, the data of which is recorded by teachers and verified monthly by the head of school (HoS).
-Regular classroom games should be introduced in pre-primary and primary classes.
-Reports of monthly activities, along with quality photographs, should be submitted at the Nursery Primary branch.
