India's organic production has grown rapidly in the year 2024-25. The government issued a statement saying that organic production has increased by 35 percent in the financial year 2024-25. Now, the export of organic produce has gone up to about Rs.5,710 crores. In the previous year 2023-24, it was up to $ 494.80 million. The main reason for the increase in the export of organic production is the increase in the export of tea, spices, oilseeds, cereals. The increase in all food items increased by about 41 percent.

Increase in Exports of Organic Products

The government said that the continuous increase in the export of organic products shows that demand is increasing globally. At the same time, the government has emphasized on taking important steps to re-establish the 'Organic India' brand.

Export of Rice and Millets

The export of rice and millets has also increased in the year 2025. In the year 2024, the export of rice and millets was 86.66 million dollars but in 2025 it has increased to 161.67 million dollars. Assam is the largest producer of tea leaves. In 2025, the export of this production has reached $ 45.13 million and the export of spices has also increased rapidly. It has reached $36.20 million in 2025.

Piyush Goyal's statement

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the eighth edition of NPOP during which Piyush Goyal said that the target of export of organic products is to increase to 20 thousand crore for the next three years. To achieve the goal, FPOs and  the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce have supported by joint work with skill development.
