Eid-al-Fitr 2025 to be celebrated on March 31 in India

Eid-al-Fitr 2025, also known as Meethi Eid, is a significant festival in the Islamic calendar. Eid will be celebrated tomorrow, Monday, 31st March, as the moon was sighted in India today. This festival marks the end of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims fast. Eid ul-Fitr, or Meethi Eid, is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Traditionally, months in the Islamic calendar start with the sighting of the crescent moon, so Eid ul-Fitr is observed the day after the moon is sighted at the end of Ramadan.

Following the prayer, families typically eat dates or a sweet dish and wear new clothes. Traditionally, Eid Namaaz is performed together.
