Delhi CM Rekha Gupta accused the AAP government of a major DTC scam and bus shortage, calling for legal action based on the CAG report. She promised to improve DTC services and introduce travel cards for women, criticizing the previous administration's management.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta accused the AAP government of the DTC scam and demanded that the CAG report be sent to the PAC. She also announced plans to improve the DTC's condition and introduce a card facility for women.

During the budget session of the Delhi Assembly on Friday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a strong attack on the Delhi government over the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) scam. She claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party government had committed the DTC scam in Delhi. She urged the Assembly Speaker to send the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report to the PAC (Public Accounts Committee) so that legal action could be taken on these allegations.

She also mentioned that the government would work to improve the situation of DTC. The loss-making DTC would contribute to the government’s revenue, thereby providing better services to the people of Delhi. She criticized the previous government for corruption in the name of "free" bus travel and announced that women would be provided with cards for bus travel. With these cards, they would be able to enjoy a comfortable journey on any bus without having to take a pink ticket every time they switch buses, ensuring accountability. According to her, the public in Delhi does not know how many women are actually benefiting from the "free" bus service.

Rekha Gupta also pointed out that due to the previous government's scams, the number of buses in Delhi had dropped from 4,344 in 2015 to just 3,937 in 2023, and this number had further declined. She said that the situation was worse now, with losses in every aspect. Due to interest and other expenses, the deficit had increased from ₹60 crore to ₹80 crore, and the operational loss had reached ₹14,000 crore.

The Chief Minister further stated that in 2007, the Supreme Court had mandated 11,000 buses for Delhi, but by 2023, the number had remained just 3,937. She criticized the previous government for not taking steps to purchase new buses for the convenience of the people. She emphasized that under the BJP government, they would work to put DTC back on track and ensure its improvement.
